This past week has been filled with many joyful reunions. What made it even more fun was that I was expected to arrive in Haiti the 24th, but due to baggage complications I arrived the 25th. Many of my friends knew I had been delayed, but because of hurricane Sandy they were unsure which day I would actually come. So when I showed up at the fishing village they were not only excited to see me but very surprised. The truck was hardly stopped when I jumped out to hug the women. They gave me a huge group hug jumping up and down saying “Kelsea! Kelsea! Kelsea!” Shortly after the group hug, one of the women who had just arrived saw me, ran over and literally picked me off the ground screaming and jumping for joy. My heart melted with overflowing love for these women. It was good to be back.
The ladies told me of how they prayed everyday that God would help me return Haiti. They said, “God is strong, we knew He would bring you back.” I responded, “With God all things are possible!” They all yelled, “Amen!” and gave me another huge hug. I feel humbled and blessed to be used by God to show that He does answer their prayers and perform miracles!
God continues to confirm to me that His will is for me to be in Haiti. Even though there have been changes in the ministry and people’s lives, it’s as if I never left. Walking around the fishing village just feels so right. Talking with Haitians seems so natural. Haiti is where I’m supposed to be. It feels like I’m home again
