In my last update I hinted to you that 2014 is the beginning of a new season. But more than just a new season, 2014 will be a whole new life in Haiti. A new ministry, new house, new people, new experiences, new town, and a new adventure with God!
As my husband and I have been seeking God about this new season, we feel that He is calling us to further establish His Kingdom in Haiti through connecting with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). For those you who have not heard of YWAM, it is a ministry with bases spread out all over the world with the primary focus of training disciples and sending them out to make God known to the nations. There is one YWAM base in Haiti that has been doing ministry here for over twenty-five years.
My husband, Philipson, has been working with YWAM for the past 5 years. He has done their Discipleship Training School (DTS), became staff on the base, coordinated and lead many teams, and also started the prison ministry in St. Marc. Now God has confirmed to us that He wants us to establish a new YWAM base in Haiti that will be a place where the youth of Haiti will unite and rise up to bring Kingdom transformation in their nation.
We feel called to Inspire, prepare and empower the people of Haiti for meaningful work, leadership and fulfillment of purpose through the foundation of Biblical values, that will impact Haiti and the rest of the world. We want to champion leaders by transforming their ideas and visions into actions that directly benefit the people of Haiti in their personal, economic, social, cultural and spiritual lives. We want to create a network and establish relationships with local and international organizations, ministries, and churches to unite together to further His Kingdom in Haiti and on Earth.
In order to walk in this calling to pioneer a new YWAM base in Haiti, my husband and I will be leaving our home in Montrouis and in a few days will be moving onto the YWAM base of St Marc, Haiti. I will be doing a Disciple Training School ( DTS ) on the base, starting January 13th and it will be for 5 months; three months lecture phase and two months of outreach where the students will have the opportunity to serve by applying everything we have learned. During this time, Philipson will be serving and working under the national director of YWAM Haiti ( Terry Snow ), to learn, grow and prepare to pioneer ministries and lead a new YWAM base. I believe that this time will be a great season of growth, challenge and blessing for me and Philipson. We know this is a time of preparation for our life journey and ministry in Haiti and we are excited to see how God leads us and works through us to impact this nation for His glory.
We would like to invite you to stand with us in prayer, encouragement and financial support. To financially support me and my husband, not only supports us but also supports the nation of Haiti and God's Kingdom. We are extremely grateful to all of you who have kept us in your prayers, shared our story, encouraged and supported us. God has used you to further His Kingdom in Haiti. We are grateful for any contribution of support, big or small, and we are asking for you to take a leap of faith with us and commit to supporting us financially every month. In addition to the cost of $4,500 for my Discipleship Training School, we are also in need of a total monthly support of $700. This monthly amount includes rent for an apartment on the St. Marc base, monthly general fees for working on the base, food, electricity and general living expenses. The DTS school starts on January 13th and we are in need of at least $2,500 by that date. Please prayerfully join in supporting us as we take this next step into a new season, a new ministry and a new grand adventure adventure with God!
